Dynamic Archery Precision Trial (DAPT)
The DAPT is DAMAI's precision trial and a training companion to the Dynamic Archery Speed Trial (DAST).
It is designed to develop consistent shooting form and help archers identify their right speed — the pace at which they can shoot dynamically while maintaining their best form and accuracy.
How it Works
DAPT follows the same basic shooting structure (3 x forward shots, 3 x side shots, 3 x backwards shots), target, and distances as DAST.
There is one fundamental difference:
DAST: Shoot as many arrows as you can in 20 seconds.
DAPT: Shoot 10 arrows, with no time limit.
Complete the prescribed rounds and record your total score.
Why Shoot DAPTs?
Your DAPT establishes a precision benchmark.
Comparing your DAPT performance with your DAST performance can reveal whether increasing speed is supporting—or beginning to compromise—your shooting form.
The goal is not simply to shoot faster, but rather to find your "right speed", build consistency, and then develop speed without losing consistency and associated accuracy.
